Overheating

Post by Mr. Wibbens »

Back in August I started having overheating issues with the KDX

Didn't have a clue why so started with a new radiator cap

Tested it out, finally last weekend. Nice twisty rutty rooty up hill section up at Quartz Creek. Made it up top and the rad sounded like a percolator, and even the res bottle was boiling over!

Carvr figured my head was f*cked, since I've had head gasket probs in past.
And I started to worry maybe I'm running to lean??

Then Carvr happened to notice the right stock plastic rad guard was all bent and ****. Looked to be blocking most of the rad. We yanked it off and tried it out...

Fookinay! It worked! Rad never hissed at all the rest of the day
( oh yeah, we filled it back up!)

I fabbed up a cheap rad guard until I can get something better
