Chain Guard
Hey kdx monkeys,i have a 2001 kdx 220 . Changed my sprocket set up to a 13 - 49 . the chain guard does not like this, seems like it will wear it out quicky what are your thoughts!!!!!!!!!

I had the same problem.
Cheap solution:
Do 2 new bolt holes in the bottom black chain rubber to add place between the rubber and the sprocket. It changes the rubber position (more at left) to add clearance.
Better solution:
Put a Fredette (or MSR) chain guard. Wider for O-ring chain, more space for big sprocket and so stronger with is double aluminum plate!
The only probleme with the Fredette, sometimes you have to put spacer between the swingarm and the chain guard for a good chain line. Easy to do and cheap!
Other good thing, the Fredette (or MSR) bottom rubber chain guard remplacement is half the cost of the original Kawasaki rubber.
