Mine was a brand new '71 Honda SL70... Great bike! After that it was Yamaha GT's

Mine was a '74 Yamaha 125 MX. Which I rode for a year, blew it up, then ported it myself and revalved the forks, and moved the shocks up to provide a whopping 6" of travel. I was 16, and I used it for a science class project (and drafting) and got an 'A' for it.

Mine was a beat up 1972 Penton 125 Six Day, It had a steel tank with a beautiful two tone green and white paint job. It was 1975, and it cost me $325.00 dollars. It lasted a few months untill the lower con. rod bearing went. The bike spent most of its time in the shop, because I didn't know how to maintain it. But it got me started riding dirt bikes.

1974 Husky 125. I sold it in 88 to get enough money to buy yard equipment. What an idiot!

1972 Yamaha GT80. Next was a 1974 Hodaka Dirt Squirt, followed by a Kawasaki 120 but I don't remember what year. A 1973 Yamaha CT-1 175cc, and a 1973 Husky 400 were next. Then came my first KDX, a 1984 200 before my 1999 KDX220 and my 2002 KX250.

i had a lt50 (quad) ,lt125 (another quad)' then when iwas 12 or 13 i got a 1988 xr250r (which was faster than my dads '05 drz250) and now the 06 kdx200

Bought my first bike, a 2002 KDX220 about 1 year ago this month. Raced 2 months later and now I'm on a CRF450R.

I learned to ride on a 74 Kawasaki F11 250 when I was 13. First one I owned was a 73 Suzuki TM125.

1972 Suzuki TS50, than a 1980 Yamaha SR250, than a 1985 KDX200, than a 2005 KDX220....The 2005 KLX125l & 2003 KTM SX50 Pro Jr. are my kiddies.......

Mine was an '89 KDX 200. Which I still have. Best damn bike i've ever owned. I just put a new pump impeller shaft, a couple new gaskets, and i've replaced the head gasket twice. Thats about all the work i have had to do to it (aside from routine maintanence). My Dad bought it for me in '97 when i was 13. We used to go riding all the time together and it put his KLR 650 to shame in the woods and on the trail. The old relic still hauls my 6'3", 210 lb frame around with no problem.

1973 Alouette SnoBrute 440- first sled

My Dad saw this sitting out in a farmers field, half buried in the mud. It was in bad shape, brought it home in 5 gallon buckets, the seat was just a bare metal frame.

We had it fixed up and I rode the **** out of it for a few years. I then got a '73 Yamaha LT3 100 Enduro and the lil Honda ended up back in about three 5 gallon buckets for 20 years or so. We then had it fully restored.

I still have it out in my shop. Tank needs to be redone, cancer ate small pinholes thru tank and bubbled paint

Used 1974 Honda CR 125. Already clapped out when I got it . But hey, it was a dirt bike and it ran. Later on someone gave me a 1972 Maico 250 square barrel that didn't run and I've been a Maico fan ever since.

I had a Maico 250 in 1992 when I was about 28. I think it was a mid 80's model.
The carbuerator used to fall OFF that thing. Finally blew it up, but it was certainly faster than my '79 KE175.

I had a Chapparal for a while. Two stroke with a belt drive and a tourque converter. That was cool

Funny how those old bike all have kool names like matador, pursang, or alouette snobrute and none of that nonsense YZ KX CR....

Yea my dad restores old cars for a hobby I want to get into a project with him restoring an old dirt bike like those but the question is cash. Sure would be nice to work on a bike nobody NEEDS to ride.

Wibby that bike would be alot of fun but it looks new already

1962 Yamaha 50 - yellow in color. It was a 2-cycle, step through frame (like the old Honda trail 90s with a gallon of fuel located under the seat) with three speed, and with an overlay sprocket which you switched to go trail riding. 45 mph with street set-up and 15 with the trail overlay sprocket. It was one of the first dozen Yamaha motorcycles imported into Montana.

1977? Yamaha DT100 (2 of them) I believe they were Desert gold in color. Ran the crap out of them. Tons of junk bikes to piddle with but none ran. 87 KDX200 (awsome bike). I had for a short while a 1984 Husky XC250 I thought about restoring but parts and pricing kinda scared me off (off to Ebay!). 93 KDX200 that I just finished a 90% restoration.

Mine was a 77' Honda MR50, my dad brough it home the same day I rode my brothers CT70 by myself. It is one day in history my wife would like to go back and change...
