A brand new 220 for me?

Post by kdxquebec »

Advertised locally : A KDX220R 2005 bone stock with 100miles. I saw the bike last week. No doubt this bike is new. $3600cnd ( $3400us)

I love my 200, 1989 model. But next year I will own a 20years old bike. This is not really the problem. My bike is top shape. No money to spend on this bike for now.

New crank bearings and rod,new piston and stock cylinder within specs.
Linkage and all bearings are perfect.
Suspension is modified for my weight and riding style.
Jetting, boyesen, and FmF complete line are

I am confused. What a new 220 will bring to me.I like the 200 snap. Will a 220 with some good upgrades(1000$ range) will be a nice bike for me?

Should I wait and buy a other bike when my 200 will explose or buy the 220 and start to modify the thing slowly during the winter.

Thanks!

Hmm That's a toughie. It may not be worth it - You might be better off running the '89 for a while and buying a used KTM, like a 250EXC. Not sure if you'd be gaining a whole lot going from an E series to an H - at least not $3400 worth IMO.

Not worth it IMHO, you could buy a 200 or 220 here with all the goodies for 2k crate it and ship it to Canada for less than that.

Box stock, you are going to spend some coin setting it up the way you like it ergonomically. Then you will be spending even more to hop up the performance; suspension and motor. If you have your heart set on staying with a KDX, then O.K. but try and get the guy to come down on his bike. Miles or no, it's going on 3 years old and that price should now be 1/2 of a new KDX by that time.

If you do get the 220, it's easy to hop it up and it will last you another 20 years of trail riding. It's your call.

Hi. Thanks. The guy bought the bike new last year . He paid 4995$ + a 16% tax. 5700$

Look like the market here for kdx is too high. For exemple:

1$us = +- 96cents cnd but maybe it means nothing...

If I compare the one I want to buy to the market here, the price seems to be in the good range...but higher than in Usa

heres a list of kdx for sale loccally:

2005-3995$ cnd.
2005-3600$
1999-2500$
1997-2000$
2002-3500$
1986-1000$
1994-1500$
2001-3200$
2001-2950$
1998-2500$
1992-1200$
2001-2800$
2004-3500$
1996-2500$
