hard to start

Post by danbra »

Hey guys, I just changed my oil and spark plug(didn't need to), usually it started in the first kick, however the start right after the change was a bitch to get going!!! is this normal??? will it go back to first kick start? thanks, Dan.

As long as the oil level is correct, take that out of the equation. Is the new plug the same brand/# as the old? Is it gapped properly?

Not normal - should start-up as easy if not easier than it did prior to spark plug change.

P.S.Make sure you cap is snapped onto the plug.

Check the gap on your new plug. Make sure it sparks when grounded to the frame.

Why did you put water in your gas when you changed your oil and plug?

If the only things you did were oil and plug, put the old plug back in and see what happens -- if it fires on the first kick you've isolated your problem.
