KX or simlar rear brake setup.

Post by cfspawn »

Im sure this has been raised before but here goes anyway.

Does anyone have any info on swapping my kdx rear brake lever for a KX one? my lever is pretty sad looking and has no grip teeth left, plus i have big hoofers and would like a bit more surface area to use. BTW this is for a 1990E KDX!

Send it up and I'll get it sorted for you. OR.... you could look at http://www.buykawasaki.com and see if the part numbers match.

I've got a KX lever on my KDX.

The pivot pin on the frames are different. I cut the one off the KX frame and welded it to the KDX frame.

I also had to reshape the KX lever, which means I broke it. The part your toe hits is too high.

I had it welded by a pro, but then broke it again soon after.

Right now it is splinted with carbon plate cut to shape and JB Weld, its been O.K. for half a year.

You might want to consider reshaping your stock one. It is carbon steel so easily welded if you need to make it longer
