Seat Cover
Has anybody had any luck re-doing there seat by buying material from a frabric store? Any tips on what kind of material or size or how to apply? Marine Vinyl, Power stapler? My bike is obsolete, so finding an aftermarket is a longshot. Thanx
Yes, they really do let me drive the Train!

You might want to check with a local auto upholstery shop. I used one to install a seat cover for me. Not only will they know how to do it, they may have material suggestions for you to consider.
You might also want to look for a KX seat cover of that vintage (KX and KDX should be pretty close) and get the upholstery shop to "make it fit".

I used marine grade vinyl from the fabric store and stapler - nothing fancy. Worked fine for me! Center the seat, attach one end and start working your way to the other pulling it snug as you go (checking every now and then for wrinkles). Trim off the excess with a SHARP razor making sure to stay away from the staples. Still looked good after 10 rides when I sold the bike. Best part about it was enough material to cover it twice for like $6!
Or you could go to the auto upholstery shop and get leather!!!!
