Who's your favorite Silencer?

Post by KarlP »

My Wife has been acting up lately....

Which silencer/spark arrestor has proven to be "best"?

After my recent experiences with the OEM unit, I've decided I really need to get a fancy new state of the art silencer with spark arrestor.

What do we like on an '02 220 with RB carb and head and some kind of Gnarly silver pipe?

(By the way the KDX/CR hybrid is coming along nicely!)

I have the FMF Q, It is very long ( canister reaches all the way past the taillight) But is very quiet when properly packed.

I have the Pro Circuit Type 296, slightly louder than stock . . . IMO it seemed to add some "edge" to the higher RPMs, not earth-shattering but I noticed it after swapping it out.

Carvr went back to stock and it sounds soooo SWEET!

Wish I could find one to try for my '92

I would stick with stock but I'm afraid of it clogging up.

I did the RB carb and head thing and the bike would not GO. It wanted to, but just couldn't. I ended up with a 140 main before it would pull clean on top. I called Ron on a sunday afternoon and between us we realized what must be wrong.

Have you ever seen those smoker things beekeepers use on beehives? That's the idea.

I put on the OEM one from my donor bike and it rips!

I know of no good way to unclog one once it gets clogged.

Sounds like the FMF Q is the silencer of choice?
