Interested in who's gone a little further than RB mods. Add a comment or two (or more!) to describe how things changed - for better or worse . . .

I have only had my latest kdx 200 for a few months but, will soon be tearing it down to do the wiesco piston and the head and carb mods from r&b. Also
I will be polishing the fuel and air passages in the jug as well. So far I have
trimmed out the top of the air box as much as possible, tore down the carb and polished out the bore to a mirror shine and replaced the stock exaust with a full fmf system and I have noticed a great diffrence in the bike. Stock tires suck too, and I have changed the rear to a 120/90/18 mitas hard compound C-04 cross rear. What a diffrence! Next will be a bridgestone
M-101 front tire, as about as sticky as they come!

Polishing is a bad thing.... you need the fuel to atomize... this is done with turbulance from the rough ports. It will spoo badly if you polish the porting.

Do you know who to send the jug to to have this done correctly when the time comes? I have had this done on a yz 125 and it seemed to have better power in the power ban but did foul plugs at low rpm even at 50:1 that was probably due to the atomization of fuel as you speak of. Our local "expert"
did the work but I have seen many questionable machine practices come out of his shop and seems like a real expert would know about fuel atomization.

eric gorr would be my choice for porting, or FRP

Alright, enlighten me on this one.
I changed out engines a few weeks back from bone stock to a ported
polished engine. This spoo you speak of is apparent on the latter.
I been fooling with jetting and fuel mixing. Its not fouling plugs either.
It also is stronger than the stock engine, has a 4 stroke-like grunt to it
also. I have'nt fooled with the reeds yet, simply because I enjoy the 'hit'
that it has currently.

But back to the spoo, this thing spoos even after the engine has been
stopped. Gravity is pulling down from the silencer and its dripping
from under the rubber seal at the pipe.

So all that is associated with the port/polish job?

The main culprit on spoo IMO is the added Alcohol and "enviromental" additives in fuel. It is exasperated by polishing ports. The air running across the polished metal makes the fuel come off in droplet form vs. atomixed form caused by the rough surface.... so you get a larger amount of unburned fuel running through your bike causing more spoo than normal.

I am trying Tolulene this next weekend trying to put spoo in check. Others have said that it helps allot. 5-10% is supposed to do it.

Let us know how the tolulene works out and were can I buy it, how much etc.
I work as a tech inspector at a local legend car track. I will see what I can find out about the subject this weekend. Thanks inda.

Speaking of fuel tech....Tolulene 'enhanced' gas will pass sniffer, because gas has tolulene in it already....Gas with 10% ethanol in it won't though.
