Sea Foam and KIPS

Post by RTSinDallas »

Has anyone ever run Sea Foam as an engine cleaner/ fuel stabilizer in their KDX? Would running it help keep the KIPS clean? I think it was developed for outboard boat 2t motors, so it might work.

Thanks

Ask Mr. Wibby.

At least...I think he has seafoam spearience.

A btw...but with a decent oil and 1/2 fast jetting, the KIPS runs clean for years and thousands of miles.

I used seafoam every year at the beginning of the riding season in my street bike. After sitting in the garage all winter, it cleans the varnish out of carbs really REALLY good!!! I would use in my dirtbikes every once in a while if I had let the fuel sit in the carb for a period of time as well.

OK....if it wasn't Wibby that used it...it was someone else.

How 'bout THAT for a shining recommendation!!

I've used Sea Foam in my old IHC Scout, with good results. I never used it in a 2t, although I think that's what it was developed for in the first place. I'm currently running Mobil 1 @ 32:1 I just put a rev pipe on and am still playing with the jetting. Right now I'm using a 38 pilot and I think a 148 or 150 main, with the stock needle in the 3rd position. Here in Dallas it's been hot and wet, in 90's with 60-80% humidity. If I can find a stretch of secluded road, I'll do a few plug chops to see if I'm close on the jetting.
