It's a two-stroke, better to buy used because they're SO cheap with this 4-stroke craze, and a siezed motor is only $150 ish from running...

I wouldn't buy a new KX250 anyway. I may have a Kawi now, but if they don't want to support 2-strokes, then they are simply not my favorite company. KTM still has the 2-stroke lineup alive and evolving. That's where your money should go if you want to kepp the pingers around :supz:

KTM and Gas-Gas, still representing 2 strokes. I think Yamaha is still too, but probably not for long.

There are many other companies that still sell 2smokers. Husqvarna is big into them and still developing them. TM has a huge lineup. Gas Gas and
KTM of course. And crap, I just had a few more in my head but forgot about them. I know I'm forgetting a few...

I don't think this 4-stroke only thing is going to last too long though, maybe in the larger dez races where a big 4stroke is preferable but if you look into the WORCS series more and more riders are racing 2strokes. Kurt Caselli won a round on his 300exc against Ryan Hughes, Ricky Deitrich, Destry Abbott, Nathan Woods who were all on 450s. At the last race in Tougal Washington not only was Caselli on a 2stroke but so was Mike Kiedrowski (hall of famer). I give them major props, I hope more people follow them.

Sad day it truly is though...

Last I heard the YZ's are still on. They have been getting real decent 2-stroke sales in comparison to kawasaki.
