KDX hub, KX forks

Has anyone had a front axle made up to use the KDX hub with KX forks?
I've heard mention of it and I'd really like to keep the mechanical odometer. I have a hard time seeing the miles on my Trail Tech without my specs and the mechanical one works great for a quick look.
