Pushrod Nut size
I will be replacing my springs in the next week or 2 and was wondering what size wrench I need to grind down to remove the pushrod nut. I will probably just buy a cheap one and keep it for future uses.
Thanks for any help

In the fork service thread it says I need a special Kawi tool or a ground down wrench to remove the pushrod nut to get the springs off.
2. Push down the fork spring and insert a wrench on the push rod nut, fig
Note: Kawasaki sells a special wrench for removing the pushrod nut (part number 57001-1286). A normal open end wrench can be ground thinner if needed.
I was just wondering what size wrench was needed but if I don't have to grind all the better.

You can do it without it. It's tricky but you don't have to ruin a wrench just for that. If I remember correctly, I jammed a screwdriver or something to keep the spring down and get access to the nut.

You forgot to knock over the tub of old fork oil while seaching for your paper towels.saddletramp wrote:Just jam your finger in there to hold the rod up, then after your hands are good and oily just reach for anything in the vicininty oh and make sure there are no paper towels anywhere.

I didn't know so many of you were watching me in my garage..........
A wrench smaller'n the nut can be used (place the open end under the jam nut)..but it gets a bit wonky because it doesn't hold the spring down 'flat'.
With the Speshul Purpose tool, you can hold the spring AND have both hands free...to get all oily and messy and looking for paper towels.
