"Strange Noise"
Hey guys I get a "DINK" sound right when I snap the throttle closed
after I am wheelspining. It happens one for one in the Sand.
V V WAaaaaaaa (Close throttle) DINK!
This has been going on before my RB carb when I was Way to Rich
as well as now when my plug is A perfect tan.
Does it 0-1/4 throttle as well as anywhere in the power band.
I looked at the cylinder through the reed port and the exaust and there isnt any galling or sign of any thing bad happening.
I thought I found the source when I ripped the exaust mount off
(Deep Rut ,pipe drug though it) Exaust under throttle pressure pushes out of the cylinder and when you chop the throttle it slams back into the cylinder from the exaust spring tension "DINK"
But thats not the case.
I am Riding and racing all summer no matter what
It just drives me nuts!
Thanks
Tony

That was just a guess. Check the tensionin the chain, and all the guards and rollers. Maybe ya got a little too much slack in the chain, and when ya let off the throttle, the chain flops down on something. Just a thought??????

It is quite possible it is rubbing on the gear lever. Check the gear lever for any wear. Maybe strap your bike to a lift stand, start her up and take it through the gears and listen that way. Just a thought... Good luck...Rick wrote:Are you sure its not chain slap?
