motorcycle registration
Okay...onto the dual sport conversation again...I just got my title for my kdx200 in the mail. Had it transferred from old owner to me. It states the body type as MC for motorcycle, not OHV for off highway vehicle. Is this a mistake in my favor. If I get a kit with all the street legal accessories what is involved in getting a bike registerred. Insurance, Inspection? Any thoughts

If your title is a mc title you can get a plate . Insurance is easy I have state farm and had no problem. I would insure and plate before you buy a kit to make sure their is not a title problem. I have baja designs works good for me inspection you need turn signals, brake light, hi lo beam head light ,high beam indicator light and horn all need to work with bike off by battery for I think 20 min baja designs has all this for $450 All that is needed after that is pipe guard, chain guard, dot tires, mirror, speedometer and odometer. If you know a inspection mechanic you may not need all this.

I'm not interested in long trips. I live in the middle of a small ass town. I want to ride the 5 mile backroad to the 20 mile trail. I love the bike and its lightweight. Adding 6 lbs of electrical isn't going to ruin it on the trail. Kenda trakmaster tires are dot legal and have good knobbies. I already have a trailtech computer. A couple lights and I don't have to trailer the bike to the trail. sounds good to me

Uh no he wouldn't. Mine is street legal and I ride it around all the time. But then again this is Arizona and anything with 2 wheels can get registered. I have a headlight, brake light, mirror and a plate and I'm good. I've gotten pulled over before and they didn't care about anything other than headlight and license.
In fact, I'll get some pictures when I super-motard my KDX so that I can take the license test on it. Street tires on a KDX is amazing, wheelies are effortless.

here in Pa in need a everything a street bike has. headlight, brakelight, mirror, horn, speedo, signals, battery so it can run with the bike off. The baja designs kit has everything I need to pass inspection except the speedo which i already have. Now all I need is the cash to get it, get insured which is $75 per YEAR, register and plate it. I'll let you know how everything goes.

What are you getting flats on. I wouldn't think rocks would flat a tire and a tube? I have had my bike for 2 months now. No experience here with these tires yet. I had an atv before with tubeless tires. I took brand new kendas on their first ride in the rocks and got a flat. Put tire slime in and for almost a year had no tire problems. Not even losing air. I was sold on the slime. Now thats a tubeless atv tire.
