Fork Spring Rate
Sorry about the million and one questions but I appreciate all the help.
The time has come for me to order some springs for my 91 kdx from mr Fredette as I have given up looking for XR springs. Ive bean to race tech which recomends me going for a .395kg spring so I thought Id go with the .38kg spring.
I weigh 65kg without gear
Mr Fredette recommends .33kg springs which I thought was a bit light im assuming this setup would be for woods riding.
What do you guys think.
Also if I order .38kg springs from fredette would I use the stock preload spacer?

How much better are kdx cartridge forks than my 91 non cartridge because I can get a set of 95 forks for the price id be paying for fredette springs, only prob is there still only .35kg weight springs.
I ride alot of deep whoops and sand and my bikes always see sawing so I cant get much speed up. I like to ride full throttle so would .5kg stiffness be enough of an upgrade. And what oil should I use im thinking of 10wt

I will pick up my new bike soon. 2005 KDX 200. Being a novice rider, I am not ready to hop it up quite yet. However, I probably will upgrade the forks with race tech gold valve stuff. Just for comparative purposes, does anyone know what the spring rate is on the stock forks (2005)? I purchased the 'online' manual, but it isn't that specific. Sorry to butt in on this thread, but it seemed relevant (kinda sort of). Thanks.

Mine were still working (clikers), I could feel a difference BUT decided to check it out anyway and what I found was coffee looking oil and no N2 left (last shock service was at least 2 years ago...)
So keep that in mind. Find out when was the shock serviced, if it's been more than a year I would at least do a good cleaning, replace oil and N2. It is really a simple job, can be done in 1 afternoon with basic tools and the manual.
