Couple'a Random Q's

Post by 2001kdx »

#1: How often should the coolant be changed? I have a feeling I change mine WAY too often.
#2: My dad broke the stud off of the part at the bottom of the fork, where there are four bolts which house the axle. Do I need to order the part from Kawasaki, or can I just use a metric bolt thread?

#1: Every couple of years. I just changed mine after 3-4 years and it looked like new.

#2: Other people have had this happen, finding the replacement part was a pain I think, let me dig up the answer.

The stud on mine was broken when I first found my bike at a friends shop. They fixed it for me before I bought it, I could ask them what they did for ya'.

I don't know if you have found a solution for this yet. My son inlaw's 2005 200 had two broken studs. We dug around in my bucket of metric fasteners and found a couple of suitable length bolts that worked just fine. We later went to the hardware store and found a couple of metric studs that were about a buck and a half apeice.
