Anywhere to buy head gasket only?

Post by strider80 »

Anyone know where to buy only a head gasket (not a top-end kit) for a 2000 KDX200. I sent my head off to Ron and was wondering if I need to buy a whole top-end gasket kit or not.

I have always gone to my local Kawa dealer and bought single gaskets when I need them.

You can reuse head gaskets as long as they aren't bent or damaged somehow. Clean it up, paint it with some Krylon aluminum paint..bolt it back on.

From WA it shouldn't take more'n a day or two to get a few extra $$ to Ron for him to put a new gasket in with your head when he sends it back.

As fast as his turnaround is, though, you might already be too late to get one sent with.

The OEM gasket runs about $20. Ow.

Oh..in answer to your question (Anywhere to buy?): Sure. Any OEM parts supplier. RB-Designs.

Ron said he does not have any. I ordered up a top-end kit from Rocky this moring, oh well, at least I will have the gaskets when I need them.

I agree, probably could reuse it, but I have 4 long distance races this year, and reusing the old gasket just gives me a funny feeling.
