Mobil MX2T Discontinuation

Post by Mark W »

I heard that Mobil is discontinuing MX2T for thsoe of you who may be using it in your bikes. I went to the local Autozone and missed the last 100 bottles of the stuff as someone bought up the remaining stock. I went to a second Autozone and they had 10 bottles left that they had on clearance. No more will they carry the MX2T.

I also went to the Mobil webpage and found that they have a new to me 2 stroke racing oil they are promoting. Maybe it is the MX2T repackaged in a quart that they can then sell for more. Don't know.

Also found the new to me packaging of the Mobil Synthetic Oil confussing. The 15/50 weight no longer has a red cap but the oil is still not listed as energy savings. Still good for the bike you think?

Thought I would pass along....

Hmm. That is interesting. I have never seen a bottle around here, in all my shopping and looking for it while I was already in the store.

Thanks for the link. I checked out their new 500 mile car oil and the 7,500 mile oil. I was curious about those after seeing the commercials.
Thank you for participating on kdxrider.net. :bravo:

Gotta love Motul800, World of Powersports carries it and it's not that much more expensie when you factor out that it's priced/sold per liter. Get to Autozone, and snag all their MX2T first!! I agree that it's prolly the best oil/$...

Well this really blows. I finally get on the MX2T wagon and they discontinue the stuff. What timing...I was going to get some more tomorrow! And I was about to give up Bel-Ray Gear Saver for the 15/5 red cap too. Guess I'll go back to Maxima for premix and tranny oils now. Great.

Mobil 1 V-Twin 20W-50 engine oil is also designed to provide the proper frictional characteristics necessary for wet-clutch engine/transmission systems.

Could this work well?

Looks like it should.

This is what I've been running:

It's the weight the factory recommends, and is still a full syn w/ wet clutch use in mind.

I think I'm going to start using this as I can't find the mx4t:
