New bike prep?

Post by imarcr2 »

Hello All,

I just bought a new 06 KDX.

What should I do/buy to prep the bike for the trails?

Thanks, Bill

Get a big tub of synthetic waterproof grease and start disassembling your steering head and swingarm.... grease the piss out of the bearings because they won't have any on them!

200 or 220?

Welcome. I have heard to take the swingarm and steering heads apart and regrease them. I have never owned a new bike but have heard it is standard to do when ever getting a bike.
There are a few of us from Chicagoland here, Inda is from Decatur, I am from around Gary, look on the KDX world map and put your self on.
EDIT:

He has a 200 so the piston grenade thing is a non-issue...

Guards, decent tires, grease bearings and respring the front fork for riders above 140lb. Most importa ntly, have FUN! :supz:
