For those of you who don't know, a 5 year old boy was killed this past weekend at a MX park in NC. He was practicing on his new KTM 50 Mini Adventure for an upcoming race (he was a new racer) and he fell off of his bike. A 12 year old on an 85cc bike jumped and landed on top of the boy's neck, resulting in fatal neck trauma. The 85cc bike wasn't supposed to be on the track at the time.

The boy's bike was next to the casket in the church, and the boy was buried with his MX gear on. The story can be read here:

This made me think about our favorite riding park and their "kiddie" track; 85cc bikes scream past 50cc bikes on training wheels all the time. I'm not taking my kids back down there until they change the rules.

Just something else for a parent to worry about...

I would bring the article to the attention of the track owners. This will show you what type of cloth they are cut from. Always error on the side of caution.

Very sad indeed...

If that doesn't bring a tear to the eye. Nothing will.
