The only time I consider torquing the front end it to lift it over obtacles or to flatten out a small drop off. It's a momentary thing, only.

I have been running around on a jeep trail or on the street and every once in a while, have the front end begin to slowly (and unintentionally) come up in sixth gear.

I put that sucker down where it belonged as fast as I could safely do so.

You can safely do wheelies on your KDX until about age 70. Then it might be time to ease off the throttle a little.

My apologies to any Septuagenarians on the forum.

Ok, after reading all of this, I've got the wheelies
Question
What do you really call wheelies?
Going through a few gears (1 to 5-6) while the front is off the ground ( that's a real wheelie to me) :prayer: or are you talking about what I call a power loft? (pull the front wheel up and hold it long enough to pass sumthin in your way by using a combo of clutch, pull on handlebar, right powerband, position on bike...)
I tried a few time to go trough gears but I'm too chicken to be (anywhere) close to the balance point.
I can do power "wheelies" by using the clutch of course or beeing at the right speed and RPM but no way I can go trough gears like that.
So are you:
real wheelie type
or
power loft type?
Are you all that good or am I that bad/chicken? I can already see some of you smartass comment there, oh well
