Back in the saddle 1 year later!!!!!

Post by fulltiltboogie »

Finally got my KDX fixed! Motor stuck one year ago...ended up being a crank bearing. 5 years on the original top end wasn't bad. So now I have a new crank, cylinder, piston. Ouch....$$$! I admit I kinda got burned out and just put the KDX aside for a while and didn't feel like repairing it. Well I did buy a Harley Streetglide and just cruised a while. Bought a KX250 and raced it in a hare scramble the next day......sold it the next day. Just wasn't my good ol' KDX. Finally rode the KDX this past weekend. Wow what a difference a new motor makes. I'm back and ready to rip. Probably hanging around here once again. Anyone going to Loretta Lynns spring ride in a few weeks? I urge you to if you don't have plans already. One of the premier rides of the year. See you there!

Well.....I sold it and kept the 200. Suspension way stiff....Too tall...lots of power for hill climbs I wish the KDX had but otherwise so much that it got me into trouble. I was so used to ringing the KDX out and riding it wide open I would come out of a turn on the KX and give it a gallon and the back end would jump plum sideways. Made for a long day at a hare scramble. I'm sure with more seat time on the KX I could get used to its power. For now I still like my KDX. I've spent years setting it up perfect for me.
