Reconditioning engine
Im setting to work to recondition my top end is there anything I need to know, my bike is a 1991 kdx200, I have read somewhere that the bore is coated and doesnt need to be rebored, does this apply or am I reading in the wrong place

The best thing you can do to make your top end rebuild go smoothly is get a factory service manual. There are a lot of things to check, clean when the top end is apart. You will also need to know torque specs to get it back together correctly.
IF the coating on the cylinder isn't scratched or worn beyond the service limit, it can be deglazed with a scotch brite pad and used again.
