First off...one must ask the big question.

WHY?

If you truely want the 250 sound...sell the kdx and buy a 250.

Use heavier cards on the spokes.

OK, just joke'n. Seriously though go to your Kawi dealer and order 98 KX muffler bearings part# 98-250-0004. They'll try to sell you the 0003's but they have a more thumper sound.

Fools !!!

Take off the airbox lid and it will sound like sort of a cross between a 250 and a duck.

Again...WHY?

No. Or, at least it didn't on my KDX220. Understand what a torque ring is and does. It is a spacer. It extends the length of the pipe without increasing the diameter. It does nothing that I could tell by riding OR listening to it. Well, it did make it harder to fit the pipe back on the bike. Ask Jeff if he uses one on his own bike.

I'd rather make a 250 sound like a KDX!

Wish all bikes sounded so SWEET!

I love pulling up to a crowded staging area after a long ride, running too tall a gear, just lugging the motor along, barely any sorta exhaust note at all.... thing sounds so COOL!

Then there's all these asshats on their noisy POS thumpers!
Running full throttle right passed the rigs
I usually flip em off, or yell at 'em and tell em that thing sounds like a WET FART! (I do, just ask Brad)

Hey mine too!! I really think it has alot to do with a competition exhaust. The spark arrester and more packing quiets things alot. Just don't change your packing all season, or try using household insulation. Once it gets soaked with spooge it is all the same anyways, right?

Record a 250 on a tape , the sit on your bike, twist the throttle and play the tape. That may sound stupid, but... No it IS stupid.

Whenever I want my bike to sound bad, i find a low traction are, stand up and lean all the way forward and rip a few gears. Again, STUPID!

Load up the MP3 player. Warning: make sure your speakers aren't pinned.

'Wonder what my 220's gonna sound when I bolt on my RB-modified head & carb - any different Wibs?

They'll probably get here Tuesday or Wednesday - Ron's ALREADY done and has shipped!

If you don't want to spend the money and order new Muffler Bearings to get that 250 sound you could go the cheap route and pick up a couple cheap 7-11 Bean Burritos before you ride.

You'll definitely sound like a 250 but you'll need to stop every couple miles and clean out the shorts. :butthead:

Eat 4 cheap 7-11 Bean Burritos and you'll sound like a KX 500.
