Kick starter
Anyone know of a good vendor to get a decent priced kick starter for my 2000 kdx 200? Mine is getting pretty sloppy and I am afraid its going to break.
I checked BikeBandit and it was 91.00......ouch!

Are you sure its the kick arm that is bad, and not the boss? The boss on my 95 was worn way down so it would open past 90 degrees making it a real pain. I replaced the boss for about $40 fro bikebandit. I ended up getting a Fredette MX style kick lever anyway. $90 is about what you are going to pay anywhere that I have seen.

..except if the knuckle is worn out, so is the kicker.
..except there is only one year (or a couple) of KX kicker that fits.
Your choices are: A new OEM hockey stick and knuckle, looking for a KX lever that fits, buying an aftermarket kicker, say, from Fredette..and a new knuckle.
You're going to be pushing $100 to get it done right.

I didn't bother to go looking...something pretty old...
OK...I went looking...
CDave says it's an '89 KX125 kicker that fits on the OEM KDX knuckle.
I have never seen a list along the line of 'All KX levers '89-'95..' or anything of that sort.
As far as what KX knuckles may fit...I have no idea. If you end up buying a knuckle..why bother with a KX retrofit? Nothing wrong with the OEM knuckle...it's the hockey stick kicker made of recycled/cast junk metal that's the problem.

I want to replace the whole thing, knuckle and kick lever. The item is the one part on the bike I dont have full confidence in. I just know I am going to break it off at the bottom of a canyon with no where to push but up.
I like the longer OEM kick lever.
