Ohlins on a KDX

Ohlins on a KDX
I have a chance to buy a Ohlins rear schock for $100. Any one know if it will fit on the H series? Would it be much of an upgrade, I mean I dont have any complaints about the stock schock. The seller says he is about 190 and it worked great and thats about what I weigh. Its an older ttx 44 on the schock is v-433kt5120 thanks.

There are a few things I'd be looking at. Size of the top and bottom mounts, length of stroke and also where the resevior(sp?) sits so it doesn't interfere with the airbox/frame. Good luck...

That doesn't mean the shock your look'n at will work or is the same as FRYSPEED shock.
Before you hand over any money make sure you check all the measurements otherwise you could be stuck with an old 100 dollar useless shock.
Something else to remember, if it's an old worn out shock even if it has a Ohlin sticker, it'll need a rebuild. $!00.00 plus rebuild of $150.00 is it worth it?

You're spending money in the wrong place.
Spend the money to upgrade your Kayaba.
Send the thing to Richard Wilson, House of Horsepower in Eugene, OR. He does an excellent job on the KDX KYB.
190# is on the edge of too much for the OEM 5.0kg/mm spring.
Have you setup the existing shock? What are your sag figures?
IF you send your KYB in to be revalved, DO determine your sag figures FIRST. If you need a 5.2kg/mm, might as well get that done with a revalve.
Oh..you don't send your spring in with the shock..and do NOT compress the shock for shipping.

$250 maybe for something that may not even fit right, I know anything can be made to fit, but is it worth it? Nah.
I am still tuning the front forks, I added about 10-15 mm of oil and increased the pre-load to 10 mm just to see if I might like that better. Then I might do something with the rear shock and spring. Thanks for the link
