Even Higher MSRP on KDX's

Post by KDXGarage »

Has anyone seen the new, even higher MSRP's on the 2005 KDX's, as shown on the buykawasaki.com website? They are $4,149 (used to be $4,099 last fall) and $4,599 (used to be $4,499).

They were $3,999 and $4,399 for 2004 is why I said "even" higher.

What's orange about just buying a used KDX for half that price? But seriously, I see what you mean by them edging closer to orange prices. I was quoted $4.950 out the door last fall for a leftover 2004 KTM 200EXC.

They stretched out the "I can get a new one for only x amount more" price. There is even more room now to justify buying a used one and fixing it up.

I've said it before--working on the bike is as much fun as riding! I'm a cheap YKW! $700 for used 1990. Came with spare front and rear fenders, new seat cover, PC pipe and silencer, spare cylinder, xtra jets(don't need 'em), near new Michelin s12's, new grips, Unifilter, Boyesen 607's, Moose bars....Did have to buy a helmet, brake pads and fluid, chain/sprockets, wheel/steering/susp. bearings, throttle cable...Barely cracked a thousand bucks and it'll kick any outta the box 200/220's a$$.

I see your point, Jason. Call me, if you ever get to the armpit of Florida and I'll take you ridin' down here.

What is a YKW??

You got a great deal!

When I got mine, my budget allowed for a near new E model or an H model that would need some work. I went with the E. That was in July 2002.

I love working on them. If I was given a new KDX200/220 today, it would be stripped to the frame tomorrow. :-)

Thanks for the offer. I doubt I will ever make it, though.

The increased MSRP is just nuts. I think cicone has hit the nail on the head. People who want a new bike are going to be hard pressed to choose a KDX 200 over a KTM 200 the closer the prices get.

Sure. I'm originally from Ft. Lauderdale and spent my teens in Boca Raton.
St. Lucie is about 50 miles north of Palm Beach. Spent a lot of time up and down the east coast in the 60's and 70's. Now I live in the woods!
