Hmmm. That sounds like fun. I might give that a go.

Currently, I'm using Maxima, but I've used other bike shop types. I just bought a gallon of Rotella T dino and will use that next time (this weekend).

Bel-Ray Gear-Saver in 80w. Expensive? Yup. Worth it? Uh-huh.
I didn't spend the $$$ on a bike that I didn't intend to take care of.
Also, I can afford it. And, it was recommended by not 1, but 2 riders
in my club that have a combined 40+ years riding KDX's.
I'll trust them.

No disrespect intended, cfspawn. I have found this forum to be very helpful in tuning my bike to the way it performs for me. I have also found that the resources in my club are, in fact, invaluable to me and any of you in here. The 100+ years of experience here from, say, the top 20 of you still does not trump the 40+ years of 2 guys who have actually worked with oil (Bel-Ray) and pre-mix companies (Silkolene) to develop the highest quality fluids for, specifically, the KDX. The proof IS in the poll: everyone uses something different, and it's what works for them - pricewise, convenience, what their clutch feels like, and what they see when they pull their clutch/gearbox apart or drain their oil. Sorry if I came across as being an a$$ for my statement (that happens, due to the fact inflection doesn't translate so well from type). My experience and advice from my club guys is, if you buy a quality oil, the breakdown in protection and viscosity is slowed, therefore minimizing your maintenance. Buy Wal-Mart oil - change it often. Buy quality, name-brand, gearbox specific oil - change it less. I rode 200+ extremely grueling (read, clutch-slipping-gearbox-abuse) over 3 days in Idaho last year, on top of high-rev sand-dune riding (1.5 days), then another low-speed, clutch-intensive day riding chalk-washes here in CO. When I drained the oil, it was still almost as red as it was coming out of the bottle. Good piece of mind, actually. My experience, and mine only. Y'all can put whatever works for you in your bikes, I'm sticking with my Bel-Ray.

My point exactly. Say, do they have the same oil/pre-mix down under as we do, or do y'all have your own petrol companies puting out various oils & pre-mix?
