Torque Extension Calculator

Post by dave04kdx »

Check out this site. It has a calculator that you can plug in torque values when adding an extension to a torque wrench. Very useful for tightening cylinder base fasteners. Pretty cool

Keep your extension at a 90° angle to the wrench and no maths needed.

'Extension' by definition is 90º to what it attaches to. If 'adapter' is the term you're after, then doing it KayD's way is much simpler.

Anyone trying to tell you that putting a 12" extension on a torque wrench makes it read differently from it having NO extension is lying to you.

...assuming you support the head of the torque wrench like you're supposed to in the first place......

Yeah..I know you know that already. Point is to not confuse the commonly used word 'extension' with 'adapter'. That link uses the word extension, but they DO say...like a crowsfoot, too.
