First Race Report!!!

Post by kpracer »

I'm new to this site but have had a KDX 220 for several years now. I rode it quite a bit when my Dad bought it for me, and then we got involved in another type of racing and I didn't ride the Kawi for several months. About 4 months ago, my Dad and I talked about riding again and we drained the gas out of the tank and carb and the bike started on the 3rd or 4th kick after not being run in several months!!! The KDX is truly an awsome bike to be able to ride. We have done minimal maintence on it compared to other 2-smokes and it has always performed!!! Before my Dad bought it, he did quite a bit of research on them and he knew we were going to get a good bike, but we have both been suprised over the years at how reliable it has been and I have really been able to grow into it at my own pace.

I did my first Hare Scramble this past weekend, and it went awsome!!! I ended up winning the light trail(beginner) class! I had a really good time, and the conditions were pretty sloppy so I am once again extremely happy that I was on a bike that I wasn't afraid of but one that still had plenty of low-end grunt to keep up w/ the other(orange) bikes.

I saw quite a few of other green bikes but only a couple KDX...Anybody else run any of the SETRA stuff on here???

I am going to try a rough scramble this week-end, in the enduro class of-course. My soon to be 7 year old son has many races under his belt, mostly flat track so it is time for pops to give it a try. I admire the little guy for having the stones to get out there and compete, and even lead once in a while. Congrads on you're victory! :partyman:
