Seems to me they wont be laying it into any corners with that pipe but very cool looking. I like the rear brake/ pipe mount. I bet that took alot of hours no wonder it has blue USDs.

11,xxx rpm... no air filter..... 13.5:1....

I wonder if kawasaki would cover it under the good times protection plan? That is, after you've had a good time runing 3 laps in the parking lot and roaching every moving part in the motor.

Hi guys,

That KDX was my brother's one.. unfortunately was stolen along with our Honda CR 250 2002' in April 2006.

In terms of laying it out on curves, you're right, the bike can't curve too much for the right side where the exhaust is, but to the left it curves fine on road. :)
About the 11 400 rpm, 13.5:1 corrected CR and the fact it didn't use any kind of air filter, the bike was only for ROAD/STREET use, we wouldn't pass in roads with sand etc..
A curiosity about this KDX, from all bikes we had/have it was definitely the most reliable one in terms of engine internal components, before the robbery the KDX had the same top end for already almost 4 years!
The KDX engine, even tuned is a war tank in terms of reliability!

You don't imagine the tuning potential of the KDX 200/220 engine, my brother's had the stock bore (66mm), the stock stroke (58mm), only hand-made exhaust for 11 400 rpm where the FMF complete system only reved for ~9 500 rpm, the big carbie, boyesen carbon vanes, more CR and cylinder different portmap using 198º exhaust port timing.
Not an HARDCORE tune.

An hardcore tune would be:

- 72mm forged piston.
- Different exhaust for 12 300 rpm
- Different cylinder port map.
- Compression ratio for using AVGAS gasoline.
- Rejeted 41mm carbie.
- Adapted VFORCE 3 reeds from a MX 250 bike machining the KDX crankcases.
- PVL variable ignition.

:)

Oh and I'm not dreaming, my "personal" bike, an Honda CRM 50 with Yamaha DTR 125 trail engine (stock 28hp), now tuned has the same ACCELERATION from 2nd to 5th gear (150 km/h or 94 mph @ GPS) as our KTM 520 EXC Supermoto and our Aprilia RS 250 2003' with magnesium wheels and complete Arrow exhausts.

That sounds like it would have been a fun KDX to catch a ride on.
