Handguards for mini oversized bars

Post by strider80 »

Well I got my Moose mini bend oversize bars on last night and was trying to convince my Acerbis handguards into place when the aluminum ruptured on the outside end. They were pretty beat up anyways.

So what are you guys liking for handguards these days? I wonder if a "mini" handguard would fit better on the already narrow mini bend?

Thanks Mike, sounds like a quality product. Did they fit alright on your oversized bars? Are your bars cut down?

I called Cycra and they said their handguards will not work with bars narrower than 31", they need to be redrilled.

Any other suggestions on handguards?

Well, I ordered up some Moose ones for $56 with deflectors from monkey. They should fit my mini fatbars no problem. I will let you guys know how they look.

my bars are full sized pro-tapers, that I cut about 3/8" off each end. The guards mounted up fine, but yours are probably a good bit narrower.

Cycra pro bend plastic guards might work with the additional flex they have. I have them on Moose mini bars (7/8") and they fit fine.

I just used a cheap set of aluminium reinforced injection moulded plastic ones. Like these...

I have to get the OVER SIZED BAR CLAMPS from FRP or another.
I just installed the MOOSE FLEX Bars-Universal 1 1/8 Minis. They have a bit more bend & are 29 in. in width. With the Bar Mount adapter it raises the bar height about 11/16 in.

Well, here they are, Moose mini handguards from monkeybutt. They fit up just fine and were a bargin for $56 with all the necessary mounting stuff. I will write a review on the whole setup in the product section.

Are you going to raise the guards higher/level them out?? I bought the Moose Oversize Bars Clamps & then drilled a New Mating hole in the FRP Hand/Brush Gaurd Setup where the Clamps meet. Everything fits better then they did on he Renthals
