I need new boots...bad. Out of all the boots I have tried on the Sidi's are the only one that are comfortable. I have a friend who is sponsered by Sidi and might be able to get me a smoking deal on some new or used boots. Question is which one? I heard that the Crossfire is more MX oriented whilst the FF is trail/off road. I ride only trails that can be very technical at times.

Is there a difference between the two or should i just shell out more money for the Crossfires or save some and get the FFs?

I think Sidi markets the TA (sewn on sole) as more for off-road and the SRS (molded on sole) as more SX/MX oriented. I have the FF with the SRS sole and ride woods only. They are a great boot. Very solid platform to stand on and super narrow footprint so you can really grip the bike with the boots and knees. You loose a little feel for the brake and shifter, but it didn't take long to adapt. After two seasons (about 2000 miles) they are still like new.

Is the CrossFire just the replacement model for the FF's? Checked a few on-line stores and they list the CF as an 06 or 07 boot with no year for the FF's.

The Crossfire is Sidi's Tech 10. The FF is sidi's Tech 8. Sidi makes good quality boots. I haven't been real happy with my Sidi FF's. The quality is great. I have an issue with the adjustment using my knee protection. I've been much happier with the Gaerne SG10's. Awsome ankle support, comfort, and quality. Many of the guys I ride with are suprised that I don't like the Sidi's. With any boot, it's going to be about how they fit and work for you. Each person is different. All the high end boots are of good quality.

I tried on a pair of SG10s and they are nice and comfortable but the calf area is much too big for me. I couldnt tighten it enough so that it actually held. The Sidis on the other hand seemed much suited to my leg size.

I wore a pair of my friends FFs for 13 hours straight and never felt them on there. It was like they werent there, whilst riding and not. I tried on the Crossfires and they are even more comfortable but I dont know if they are worth the extra price over the FFs. I am perfectly happy with FFs unless the Crossfires have some improvement that makes them much better.

@ quailchaser, if your unhappy enough with your FFs I might just be able totake them off your hands... for a price of course.
