I had a Steahly FWW when I lved in NW Washington. It was good to have in the very tight sections and did provide better tractability in those slippery tight sections. When you ask if the stock FW is heavier, heaveier than what? I don't use the Steahly FWW anymore because my riding area has changed by about 2800 miles. It's totally different and faster here with limited tight trails. A Steahly cost about $110 and adds about 3 ounces. Do a search for Steahly http://www.steahlyoffroad.com/ and you'll find a bunch of discussion we had here about 1 1/2 years ago.
