Hi. westerday I went to the shop again to listen the noise with an other guy.

He noticed the sound also. We talked toghether and he said to run like this and do the break-in and see whats will happen.

Ok. So i just came back from a 2 hours little break-in ride. The sound is still there but not louder. I drained the oil and the oil was brown with verry verry littles metal shavings in (normal) The coolant look like new. The bike is powerful and everything is ok with the bike. But the weird sound is still there.

Listen to this you will understand what I mean. WOAWOAWOA gne gnee

gneee

what should I do ?

thanks a lot cyber-friends.

Any side more noisier then another? Take out sparkplug and kick it over, and try to here where the ticking is coming from. See if the kickstart lever is fully disengaged when running. My 2 cents. Hope you find it.

I think it is cool that you could post a sound clip of your bike's noise on the web for us to share :prayer:  Wish I was smart enough web-wise to be able to do likewise.

It sounds like it could be gear whine but the pitch doesn't seem right to me. Do you have access to a mechanic's stethoscope?

FWIW - A poor man's version (of a stethoscope) is just a long screw driver where you hold the tip of the screwdriver against the area of engine being checked and the handle of screw driver against your ear. You will be surprized what you can hear actually using this method.

Should be able to isolate the weird noise down to a more specific area of the engine using this technique

P.S. If your friends are not mechanically inclined be prepared for some jokes after they see you do this. Of course you can alway give them one of these :butthead:

thanks.

Reeds? They are in good condition. Maybe new one will help.

kickstart lever is free...I mean it is not a noise from there (when you pull down the lever when the engine is running) grrrrrrr.

The noise is louder when you are on the right side.

Maybe something is wrong withe the waterpump assy...

I will try the scewdriver method to see more exactly where the noise come from.

If not I will remove the right side cover to see any sing of anormal wear.

IDAO lol! when I have a problem,I try to fin a solution at my best (internet skills help  ) You bet,This is a gear whine...This is the noise name.

Phil - The video really helps describe the problem, thanks for posting it. I'd check the water pump and i'd check the kips shaft on both ends (clutch area and where it joins the cylinder). It sounds like part of the noise is also new piston noise for lack of a better term.

Phil - Flywheel should spin perfect and have no up-down play and no in-out play - you probably know that since you had the main bearings replaced.

Use the screwdriver to isolate the sound to either the water pump area or clutch area prior to removing the cover so you have a better idea what area to focus in on. Also be sure to look over the nut used to fasten the main gear located on the end of the crank.

P.S. Since you used photo shop to remove your chest protector in the video I would suggest next time you should replace the logs with a couple of girls.. that would perk the interest in this thread.
