Tires, trouble seating bead. What liquid to use?

I have changed tires before and have never had this much trouble seating the bead. I was swapping the 90/90 21" M-12 from my 2000 KDX onto my 2001 KX125 rim and for the life of me I cannot get the bead to seat in two places. First I tried Simple Green, then I tried car wash soap and ran it up to 60psi and it still won't seat.

Is it okay to use a petroleum based lubricant to seat the bead? Is a 90/90 okay for a KX rim? One other thing, I am using a MSR heavy duty tube.

I just did the front on my DR

I ended up using a lil Belray chain lube on the spot that would not seat, worked great

Loosen the Bead Lock & inflate that baby till they pop in place, I have to get to 50-60psi for it to seat

I use WD-40 or silicon spray.

That oughta work too, I used chain lube cuz it was handy, simple green and +60psi was not getting it done

BTW, Inside edge on the DR rims are heavily serrated (no rim locks)

I do use WD-40 When I don't have my soap mix ready.
Make sure the tube IS NOT TWISTED. That could cause a problem, I would think

I had the same problem before on my 93 and had to pull off the tire and sand the rim, it had a build up of rubber and corrosion from past tires. Otherwise I use windex when taking off and putting on tires. One other thing that has worked for me in the past has been to put about 20 psi in the tire and lift it above my head and slam it down on the spot where it won't bead up. Kinda redneckish way to do but it has worked for me in the past. :supz:
