Is $1200 a good deal??

Well i found another bike for my cousin, it is a 2000 kdx200. It has rad guards, a fmf pipe, helmet and googles. The guy wants $1200 firm, the bike needs nothing and nothing is wrong with it cosmetically or mechanically except for normal wear on a 6 year old bike. Does $1200 seem like a good deal? thanks

Sounds good to me. Snap it up and get to tearing it down for a top end inspection and grease all the bearings.

well, i went to look at the bike. It has a full graphics kit from shrouds to seat. Front and rear tires are like 80%. Rear wheel bearings are a bit wobbly but he is giving me new ones to put in. Googles are great. It is missing the kickstand, and the headlight. He has a number plate on instead of the healight so it isnt that bad. Pipe has a few tiny dents but nothing major. Fmf silencer. Chain is like brand new. He took it out of his garage to start it, it started first kick cold.... yes it was cold. It ran pretty good. Nice power, very little smoke. Sounded great. Shifted fine. So i gave the guy a $200 deposit. All and all it is a very nice bike. I think it is well worth $1200.

Sounds great!!

I mean...what with full graphics..AND the googles being great, you can't go wrong!

Tongue in cheek really...but, Ryan...you ASK for it over and over...

Hard to go wrong for $1200 if it looks good (not beat to crap like at least one other one you looked at), starts, doesn't have rectangular shaped wheels..stuff like that.

So..if I pay him $1000 (you already paying the 2-bills), it's all mine, right?

Cool beans!

alright well im gonna pick up the bike next tuesday. One thing is my cousin wants a headlight before we go. Any chance anyone would happen to know of a good headlight that will run off of the stock coil. Thanks. He is trying to keep it cheap.

UFO twins will work fine, just cable one of the lights instead of both of them. Or cable them both to switch so you can select which one to use.

Not off the top of my head, but i'd guess Rockymountain or Dennis Kirk would be pretty reasonable.

1200 sounds like a great deal to me. mine is the same year and had minor scratches on the original plates, shrouds, and fenders, had a shifting problem (as some of you remember) for 1500. i'd jump on it soon.

about the head light, just compare prices but you may be able to get a good deal on http://www.frpoffroad.com (jeff fredett's sight).
