Have this rim laying around. Figured it's a good spare. Can this dent be fixed? I don't want to try and end up with more damage. Heat?

Bear with me. I tried to post the pic but I don't know if it will work (never tried it before).

If your going to run it... run it as is. They cannot be fixed.

I'd just run it as is while looking for a replacement. You can loosen the spoke nipples on that side and pound the dent out with a block of wood but you might just make it worse while doing it.

I have had a wheel repaired that was 100x worse than that. It cost me $80AU. The bike got stuck WOT and launched up a gutter minus the rider.

Every expert on the subject says do not try to fix it.
It is dangerous to run it afterwards.

Like when they say don't smoke in your Meth lab... you gotta take it seriously.

If it bothers you then your on the wrong bike, you need a scooter! just kidding, I have corrected a similar halve taco, on a duel sport and had no issues at 70 mph. I took a 4X4 on the inside base of the rim and 2x4 about 1' long covering the ding outside with a five pound hammer and started hitting like your pounding a dent out of a body panel some pressure needs to be applied to the rim towards the 4x4.the rim should be up on the 4x4 at an angle 4x4 up against a wall rim at an angle.takes a helper and don't expect perfection just get the wall back there will be a little bump left but that wont be the first.

You can experiment with the pounding part. I have. It ends up looking like you tried to fix it by pounding on it with a hammer.

I'd never heat it.

I've been running my front rim with a similar dent for over 2 years, no problem.

From the picture I would probably just run it the way it is. Does not look like the ding is enough to upset the tire bead.
