Hi! I felt in a river with open throttle
Glou glou! My cylinder was full of water! We revoved the plug and removed the water with the bike up side down. (in the air boot and airbox too) A lot of water was in the cylinder.
After the bike started within 20 kick. I was 2 hours from home. The bike was ok and I did not see differences..
I cleaned the carb/air filter and airbox/aibox boot/replaced tranny oil/replaced plug when I got home.
What should i do now? sell the bike? repack the silenser and split the crankcase??lol
????
thanks a lot philippe

Change the oil a LOT over the next SMALL amount of time. Several times anyway.
You're likely OK. Especially if the water was 1/2-way clear. Especially if the 2-hour ride back was OK.
Repacking wouldn't be a bad idea..but it will dry out eventually!
Hey! Don't do that!!
...where's the pics!!??

Uh....it's ankle deep....
Seriously, how did you get THAT shot? Someone was just waiting for you to fall over?
See anyone you know at the bottom of your screen? ;)

ATF will go into solution with water, and allow you to drain it out. Then change back to oil...

na..this is just a picture of me falling in a last summer ride.
The one I went down last weekend was a lot deeper,I mean between the ankle and the knee.

I have a lot of fans who are waiting for me in the woods

You should be good.
If we have a bike 'disappear under water' for even a second or two I like to also drain the gas tank and check to be sure no water entered it which will damage the bike when I go on "reserve". I also pull the ignition cover and spray down with WD-40 to help prevent any corrosion.
Sound like everything else you got covered.

How do you pull the ignition cover to spray it with WD-40 I think mine is sealed ???

It's the left side case cover.

Colorado Mike is correct - left side case cover - stator, exiciter and lighting coil area.

Sealed? Well...yeah...with a gasket and maybe some sealer.
Sealed? Not a one-piece-can't-get-there thing.
