New piston & Rings after break in on Brand New KDX200?

Post by gtoron »

Have most of you guys that purchased a KDX 200 brand new replaced the rings and piston after the break in per what the manual says?

Just wondering if this is necessary. I want to do the right thing but hate to have to tear into my brand new bike if it is not really necessary.

I replaced mine when I sent the head to RB. It had about 20 hours on it. I call it the $125 insurance against a broken stock pee-ston. So, take off your head and carb and sent them to RB, then replace the pee-ston.
