$hit!!!!!!

Post by sluggo69 »

in the process of removing my rear shock i broke the nipple off the case on the opposite side of the kickstarter mechanism.it looks as if its just a crankcase ventilation hole of some sort. the hose connected to the nipple is routed onside the right side of the airbox and doesnt connect to anything.wtf do i do. i realy dont feel like taking the entire right side of the case off to have it welded. will jb weld or something similar work?? this is friggin frustrating as hell! any help is greatly appreciated.

thanks,,wayne

If its just the nipple to the crankcase vent i'd jb weld it. Its not under a lot of stress and should hold up just fine.

Obviously don't plug it up in the process of gluing it.

Have to ask...how'd that come about?

If you take the pipe off the shock comes out lickety-split.

I think it comes out the other side OR top OK, too..with the carb and airbox off.

But...that's more trouble than taking off the pipe.

imo and all.....

Post a success story when you're done?

Good luck!

he said to just jb weld it. its only a CV hole. as for how i broke it off, i did the old it it dont work read the directions routine.i fought and fought to remove that sob from the bottom. i took apart everything that was in the way.then the bike fell off the stand,on top of me i may add.thats when i think the shock snapped it off.at that point i decide to come to the board and read how you guys did it. low and behold it comes out on the right side. .

Glue..JBWeld..tomayto..tomahto..whatever.

I thought I could fish mine out the bottom last time I took mine off. Even with the back wheel held up as tight as I could get it to the subframe (suspension linkage off), I couldn't make it happen.

So...I gave up on that idea..... just took the pipe off.

It's easy then!!

If your sag was 1/2 way close, count the threads the adjusters are down the body and you won't have to start all over to REset the sag when you put it back in.
