Recently I reinstalled the clutch pack on my bike and buttoned everything up and rode it maybe ten times (and even raced it!) with no issues. Then last week while blasting up a hill passing my buddy in the woods my clutch got hard. Once into the single track again it went back to normal, then did it again in another WFO field section. I’d squeeze the lever and it would barely move, then after hard braking and ducking into the tight stuff it would feel normal again.
I check my cable, and it was good, then pulled the cover…
The nut holding the basket was super loose! I did not remember to torque it. Torqued to spec (88nM) and tested it was good to go! Lucky I caught this before my next race.
