1989 KDX not run in a while

I have a 1989 KDX in the shed that has not run in a while, maybe 5 years? Overall it looks pretty rough. Last time I ran it for about a minute and it quit, I opened up the air box and there were only pieces of the foam air cleaner present. I did not see any in the carb. I have new foam. I guess I will put in new foam, confirm I have oil, mix some new premix (40:1?), put in a fresh plug and try to fire it up and see what happens? Should I be doing more?

That foam air filter should be oiled properly and you'll probably need to clean the carb.

Without dipping it, I would clean the carb.
