I have the RM LED Bulb, but it is an 1157 type. I would have to change the bulb housing out. I checked it last night in the dark and vibration is very little to none and the Headlight is just as bright at idle than revingggggg

A BTW...I've not sealed the lens to the lampholder. I have shimmed the worn out rubber baby bumpers that hold the assembly to the fender. THAT cuts down on vibration a lot.

...but no sealant on the lens edge.

It DOES get cruddy in there. Sealant would resolve that...but I wouldn't want to deal with the mess OR the removal of the then-glued lens..after the LED unit turned to dust.

Cheers!

Curious...if you put an 1157 in an 1156 socket...do both 'filaments' (understood..no filaments in the 'L' case..it's a figure of speech) light? I don't know if:

1. The locating pins are the same on the two base styles
2. The center contact of the 1156 base is large enough to hit both element contacts on an 1157 bulb

I think the 1157 base has offset guide pins (so it fits only one way..have to keep the 'brake/tail' filament contacts lined up) and the 1156 has in-line pins 'cuz who cares what direction it fits.

Right?

Brad the pins on the 1157 do not line up in the socket. One sits higher than the other, where the 1156 pins are the same height. What I ment by sealed, is that I used silicone to keep the lens/casing from making that annoying rattle. I did not let it dry long enough so when it cured with the lens on, it made is kinda, a, stuck. I remember you had done something similar to cut down on the vibration, I thought it was a silicone you used, not shims. I guess I'll have to put the book back in my pants now
