KDX 220 stock carburetor

Post by HSV-Dirtrider »

What is the stock carburetor for the KDX220? Is it the PWK35? Will the carb from a 200 fit or a PWK35?

I seem to remember these carbs being different.

PWK33 for the 220, 35 for the 200. You can use the PWK35 on the 220 no problem. You will lose a little low end, but make up for it in top end.

Going the other way around works too. Obviously there will be some performance differences but it all depends on your needs and preferences.

I have a 33 on my 200 which started life as a 220. I haven't ridden it enough to comment further although the PO used it for several seasons with no complaints.

Thats the great part about these bikes, literally the only difference between the 2 is the cylinder and piston. You can swap every other part between a 200 and 220.

I have a 35 on my 220. It came off my 200 when I swapped to a Lectron. Works great. I think I can get the jetting a little more crisp off bottom, but other than that it was plug and play, which was great because it saved me a lot of money since I already had the 35. Good luck and enjoy!

Any chance a PWK38 will work on the 200H?

It can be made to work, though you would need to sort the jetting out. Currently running a 38 on my sons RMX250 and it runs well, but does eat a bit more fuel than the old 35 that was on there.

I can’t imagine a 36 or 38 fitting on the H series. It would be such a stretch to get the carb into the reed and air box boots and they’re taller.
