Checking sag, how often?

Post by DonnyV »

Hey guys how often do you check your sag. I just put a new bigger rear tire on, 110/100 18. Would I need to readjust the rear sag. Thanks guys, have a good rest of your day

Once I know where I like my sag set, I only check mine after having the shock serviced.

New tire isn't going to change your sag. Generally, anytime you make suspension adjustments, service the suspension, or gain/lose more than 10 pounds would need a sag check

If you're reay picky (like me) you'll reset it after a chain adjustment. Moving the wheel further back in the swingarm changes the length of the travel, so your sag will be affected.

Your sag measurement will be the same but the taller tyre will change your geometry, if you feel a difference you can lower the forks in the triple clamps, my guess is you've raised the rear 10mm, I noticed a big difference when I went to a trails tyre, I lowered the forks until flush with the top caps and from memory backed of the rear spring preload a bit
