It's finally time to replace chain... I was wondering what type and brand you all are using. Any recommendation for something durable and fairly cheap?
thanks

I did the rockymountainmc.com house brand Primary Drive. Very nice gold X-ring chain. Very reasonable price too compared to the name brand chains...........

I've always replaced chain and sprocket as a set.
I've been using a good chain, x-ring something or other, ~$90.00 I think and a steel "Z tooth" rear sprocket by Sunstar. The teeth on the rear sprocket are offset every other one. Front sprocket is OEM
I've been getting 18 -24 months use, or two to three rear tires.
I run the chain pretty loose, and never lubricate or clean it, but that is just me.

re: truth or myth
Truth...most of the time.
If a chain never stretched (wore out/failed), the sprockets would never wear out. Putting a new chain on windswept teeth is a waste of time....and $$.
