@SS109 - Thanks for the tip about the oil mix. I thought it would only be good to me to mix thinner since it was so smoky.
A little update. I'm yet to try new jets. But I was riding this weekend. I had put needle back to no 2.
I now carefully made sure mix is 32:1.
Elevation roughly 3-400 m. 32 c hot....
Warmed it up. Revs relatively good dry now. Started riding and things was now much better. Still some sputter, but all and all reving pretty clean.
Very strong through the whole register, pulling hard to the end. So this is very interesting.
It's still very smoky, and I was suspicious of still being very rich. I noticed that its been spitting some oil back the pipe. And when I came home I pulled the plug and it's pretty wet black.
This is a tiny step forward, and I know I need to work towards running less rich. I'm using NGK BR8ES 5422.
Feel free to add comments, if any above is useful in narrowing this down. Cheers!
PS How does one upload pics?

Wow. That's bad.
Look at the info in my signature. There is a thread on how to post pictures.

Yep, still very rich but at least you're moving in the right direction. Just wait until you get it really dialed in and all the extra power that comes along with it!

Re: Not reving clean at all
Hello
Been away visiting the motherland all summer which destroyed my 2022 riding I guess :)
But now I'm back tuning my baby. Latest update is that I put new Main and Pilot jet in. Still the same 3rd party :( which probably not as good as original, but it is what I have to work with at the moment.
Popped in 145/40 (low eh?), using 32:1 mix of 93 octane, riding in Chilliwack BC at the moment, needle continue to be set in no 2.
Can I say WOW? never felt the bike this powerful, blew me away, like 10 extra horsepower. Sputters a bit still in first gear, but after that, man, it pulls from the lowest rpm hard, then at mid range it just explode and full power til end rev. So I'm very happy. But, there is always a but. I still think improvements can be made here. I noticed still pretty smokey, still oil coming from exhaust, and.. pulled out plug, still wet.
Should I just continue walking down smaller both main and pilot jet? Needle?
Thankful for your expertise, Cheers /Matt

If your bike was running rich for a long time, it loaded up the exhaust system with oil. Even if you had Team Kawasaki 100% computer perfect jetting, it will still blow out the old oil.

@KDXGarage
Thanks, a bit more riding perhaps might lessen the oil from exhaust. But I'm thinking it's still rich considering the look of the plug.
