Crankshaft Removal???

Post by Ecarta »

How in the heck do you remove the crankshaft from H series KDX200??

I thought the installer tool would also remove it, but ahhh no!

Cases are split. Tried to use case split tool, rubber mallet, even careful blows with a mini sledge...nothing!

The case splitter is what you use. Bolt to the case, and push against the end of crank. Repeat on the other side and the crank is out.

Yup, use your case splitter to remove crank.
If you lend someone $20, and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

I am assuming your crank is still stuck in your right side case? Personally, I use a press. Just put the nut back on to keep from damaging the threads. If you don't have access to a press, your crank splitter should do the trick. Bolt it to the outside of the right side case and push against the crank until it pops out. If your bearings stay on the crank once it's removed, the best way to get them off is with a press and bearing splitter
